Some issues, but can be modified.Overall good. Sheath is a sturdy nylon or cordura--better than the thin nylon you get on cheap machetes.

Blade is stainless--and probably 420 (soft) at this price; however it sharpens VERY well, and seems to hold an edge.

Handle is too small for normal Caucasian male hands.

Handle is a solid rubber (good) and easily removeable with star tool (good).

Full tang (good), but comes out the back and pokes the hand with each swing (bad).

I removed the handle and cut the tang off the back, then ground a rounded choil for my finger up at the front. Now the handle fits great with my index in the choil.

I also modified it by dulling a section of the front for a hand grip so I can whittle and do fine work with it.

One of my favorite machetes now!

Good for the price, but . . .Good for the price, but has some issues. They are correctable if you have a grinder or Dremel:

The sheath seems like good cordura--two snaps and a velcro--not bad at all for the price.

It is full tang, which is good, but the tang extends out the back of the already-a-bit-smallish handle and pokes every time you swing it. I removed it, but this made the grip even smaller. I created a curved choil at the front, where the stock blade comes all the way up with an aesthetically pleasing but functionally futile dip design; I cut it down and curved it out. Now there is a place for my index finger (very flat, dull, and safe in the choil) for heavy chopping. For lighter swinging, the finger can just dip in and it makes the grip much more useable. I did some other mods with my grinder, but I won't go into them here.

It sharpens very well for cheap stainless and seems to hold the edge pretty well--at least for a machete.

For someone with a small hand or who is willing to cut and grind a bit, it is a great bargain.
