A broken handle is inevitable when throwing tomahawks. Typically, you should always have at least one spare handle at all times. Make sure you always have a spare on hand. 

Replacement tomahawk handle for the "Best" Competition Throwing Tomahawk. With the handle you will recieve instructions for how to securely affix the handle to the tomahawk head.

These handles contain a slit on the top to insert a small wedge. This wedge secures the tomahawk head when throwing but allows for interchange of tomahawk handles when needed. While the handles themselves are tapered, the wedge helps secure the head when throwing consistently.
